What a satoshi is
A satoshi, or sat, is the smallest unit of bitcoin: one hundred-millionth of a coin, named after bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Prices and fees are often quoted in sats because a whole bitcoin is far more than most payments.
