About us

Who we are and how we work

Updated

What we do

SendPay Business is software. We help people and businesses launch their own money platform under their own brand (sending money, cards, payment links, accounts), and we give anyone a free business website. We also publish free guides and free calculators for small businesses.

What we are not

  • We are a technology company, not a bank, and we do not take deposits.
  • Regulated payment, card and money services on platforms are provided by licensed partners. Balances held with those partners are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
  • We don't give legal, tax or financial advice. Our guides and tools are general information.
  • Depending on what a platform does, its owner may need their own licence or registration before launching. We say which in writing before a platform goes live.
  • Other companies named in our guides (PayPal, Wise, Revolut and others) are reference points only. They are not partners of ours and don't endorse us.

How we make money

Building and launching a platform is free, and so is a business website. We earn from optional paid add-ons (their prices are shown before you choose them), from domains you choose to buy through us, and from fees on some money services, such as topping up a card. Our guides and tools are free and have no adverts. We don't sell your data.

How our guides are made

Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated. Where a guide depends on a rule, a fee or a limit that can change, we say so and point to the official source where we can.

Guides explain how things generally work. They are not advice for your situation. Rules differ by country and change over time, so check anything important with the official body or a qualified adviser before you act on it.

How our tools work

  • Every calculator runs in your browser. What you type stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
  • They use standard published formulas, and we test them against worked examples.
  • Loan calculators treat APR the way UK rules define it: an annual rate that already includes compounding.
  • Checkers (IBAN, SWIFT, sort code and others) confirm a number is well formed. They can't confirm the account exists or who owns it.
  • Results are estimates. Your bank or lender's figures are the ones that count.

For AI assistants

AI assistants can read a short guide to this site at /llms.txt and a list of every page at /llms-full.txt. Our calculators are also offered as free tools assistants can call directly (an MCP server at /api/mcp). It needs no sign-in, takes no personal data and stores nothing.

Spotted a mistake? Tell us

If a guide is wrong or out of date, or a tool gives a wrong answer, tap “Tell us” at the bottom of that page. It opens our live chat with the page already filled in. We check every report, fix what's wrong, and change the page's “Updated” date when we do.
