How the monthly amount is worked out
The calculator grows what you have already saved at the interest rate you enter, then works out the equal monthly payment that, with interest added each month, closes the gap to your goal by the deadline. If your savings already reach the goal with interest, you don't need to add anything.
Making a goal easier to hit
Moving the money on payday, before you can spend it, is the simplest habit. Many banking apps let you keep separate savings pots for each goal, so you can see your progress at a glance. A longer deadline or a better rate both bring the monthly amount down.
